Weightman Family Genealogy

Are you like me, have you hit a brick wall in your research on the Weightman family line? For this reason, I decided to start up the first project for the Weightman surname run by FamilyTreeDNA.com. My husband, Earl Edmund Weightman could not find any relatives before his grandfather, John Z Weightman of Philadelphia and all the research, census reports, etc were getting us no where. I waited a while to see if someone would open up this surname project or one with a variation of the name such as Wightman, Wateman, Weichman, Waitman, but no such luck. Hence, I agreed with FamilyTreeDNA.com to be the Group Administrator . . . and here I am. I and my brother are already participants in the Seitz/Sides DNA Surname Project and it has brought us many rewards such as finding and confirming many new cousins We are looking for Weightman's from anywhere who are interested in breaking the barriers in their research. Any variation of the spelling can be included in this DNA project. Variations of the name Weightman include, but are not limited to: Weightman, Wightman, Wateman, Waitman, Weichman and Whiteman. 

Other surnames being searched for this family line are Barford (spelling variation could also include Bareford), Shronk (spelling variation could also include Shrank, Schrank or Schronk.  These families were from the Roxborough Section, the Fairmount Park section of Philadelphia and also southern New Jersey.
